Yes, you read that right.
Mariel is a teacher and both Mariel and George are insanely creative-so when I heard about the theme for their wedding last month I did a little happy dance inside.
I wish everyone could know a couple like Mariel and George-SUCH a breath of fresh air. Kind, generous, funny and GORGEOUS-inside and out. Their choice to have their intimate wedding held at the insanely gorgeous Nestldown was a match made in heaven-and bringing in Amy Frugoli from Twitterpated Weddings to coordinate it all? Forgetaboutit.
There are so many personal touches it's not even funny. Take a peek at some highlights from this ridiculously awesome day.
as the flower girls walked down the isle they whispered to guests, "here comes the bride!!!"
oh.my.gosh. the cuteness.
The cranes that decorated the arbor were made by hand by Mariel's grandmother & students- SO PRECIOUS!
a pinky-swear to seal the deal? yes please. The couple also did rock-paper-scissors to decide who said their vows first.
Mariel and George laugh-a LOT. The energy between these two is just absolutely amazing.
don't you just want to jump in the backseat and start making out with them?!
(is that weird? nevermind-totally kidding)
Going with the school yard crush theme all of the tables were custom designed based on school years and their favorites books correlating-so stinkin creative!!!!!
Mariel and George are non-traditional-haven't you noticed?
Instead of the traditional cutting of the cake they had Kyle & Rachael from Sweet Tooth Confections create a dessert bar and a little mini funfetti cake with a fondant apple-yes you got that right-they bit into the able instead of feeding each other the traditional piece of cake. AWESOME.
After a quick dress change the par-tay was ON!
If you were lucky enough to be part of all these shenanigans your parting gift could not be beat-seriously??
milk and cookies circa your 5th grade lunch tray-SO FANTASTIC!!!
From start to finish, George and Mariel's day was absolute perfection. we were all pinching ourselves going "wait-is this our job? are you for real?"
On a personal note, in 2012 we put a cap on the amount of weddings we shoot each season-we cut our 2011 number in HALF-why? So we could spend more time getting to know and able to enjoy our incredible couples. We have been rewarded in abundance for this massive shift in our wedding photography perpective. We're so stinkin' grateful to our brides and grooms for being so absolutely amazing.
And to the fabulous vendors who helped create this? Hats off! Especially Amy Frugoli who is a wedding ROCK STAR. I hope 2013 brides and grooms are snagging her up asap!!
